The Community Coaltion to End Poverty invites you to a lunch and learn, "Taking it Home: The real cost of food insecurity and a story of hope."

Date: Thursday, March 17, 2011
Time: 12 noon to 1:00 pm
Place: North End Community Health Centre program space, 2103 Gottingen Street, Halifax

Presenters: Valerie Blair, Beth Goodwin, Michelle Baker, Jessie Jollymore

Panelists will present information on the following topics. An open discussion will follow the presentation so we can learn from each other.
  • How much does it cost to eat a basic healthy diet in Nova Scotia?
  • How can food costing research impact policies?
  • What can communities do to realize food security?
The event is co-sponsored by the Community Coalition to End Poverty in Nova Scotia, Halifax Community Health Board, North End Community Health Centre, Public Health-Capital Health.
