Autumn Orchestral Movement program for older adults
Beginning Saturday September 15, Happily Ever Active will be offering a creative movement program for older adults which unites music, dance and physical activity (including cardio, resistance exercise, balance exercises and stretching). The program will be based on two activities developed at Heart & Soul Summer Arts Camp: chorale drumming, and the interpretation of musical voices through creative movement. Sessions will run from 2:00-3:30 on Saturday afternoons at Spencer House (5596 Morris Street). A snack will be provided at the end of each session.
This program is open to individuals of all health statuses, including those experiencing substantial physical or cognitive challenge. Participants are welcome to attend alongside friends, family members or care partners of all ages. In addition to activity instructors, several volunteers will be onsite at all times to facilitate and encourage the participation of more timid or impaired participants.
While we will be asking for a weekly pay-what-you-wish donation from participants, individuals are welcome to attend whether or not they wish to donate.
Please feel free to distribute this email or poster via any means you wish. If you have any questions about our Orchestral Movement program, please do not hesitate to contact me at (902) 877-6608 or happilyeveractive@gmail.com.
