Social Media: Need Some Help?

The Halifax Community Health Board and FUSION Halifax are partnering to support community non-profits working in health and social issues to better understand and meet their social media needs. The event will take place on Friday April 27th 2012 at The Learning Incubator (LINC Room 2600, Killiam Library, Dalhousie University) from 9am to 3pm.

Participants from community-based organizations serving the Halifax peninsula and Fairview areas will engage with FUSION members and partner organizations working in social media, communications, and public relations. These social media advisors will be on hand to help grassroots community groups working to address health and social issues to incorporate various types of social media into their work.

Social media “experts” will be on hand to deliver mini hands-on workshops on using tools such as Facebook, Twitter, blogs, YouTube, and Google+. So that we can best understand the social media needs of your organization,  registration forms need to be received by April 18th, 2012. If you would like a registration form please contact Laurie MacNeil laurie.macneil@cdha.nshealth.ca (902) 487-0571.

Participants will be registered on a first-come, first-served basis. We expect this event to fill up quickly – to guarantee your spot, please register as soon as possible. One participant per organization.

We ask that participants bring their own laptops to the event. If you do not have access to a laptop, please let us know when you register as we may be able to make one available to you for the day.
